Where Does Cancer Services Funding Come From? - Nearly all of the programs at Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana are provided free of charge. From supportive counseling and advocacy to durable medical equipment, nutritional supplement, wigs, support groups, transportation, and financial assistance, the help is available to all, regardless of their ability to pay.

The organization is entirely supported by charitable gifts. In 2006, foundations provided 38% of the budget, individual donations covered 16%, corporations and organizations gave 15%, special event fundraising brought in 11%, United Way gifts amounted to 6% and bequests and interest income generated the final 14% of necessary funds. Last year the agency raised $944,327 to help local people with cancer.

Northeast Indiana is a very generous place. We are fortunate every time a person or group decides they want to make a gift or organize an event for Cancer Services. We depend on every single one of these donations.

We also want to remind people that many employers provide matching donations every time an employee makes gifts to qualified organizations. We have received matching gifts from AON, American Express, Enodis Corporation, GE, ING, Lincoln Financial Group, Safeco Insurance, Verizon. Ask your human relations department if your company offers such a program. Click here to read more about matching donations.

In Honor and Memory - Donations received from donors will be listed in Cancer Services' quarterly newsletter.  Other opportunities include:

  • Brick by Brick we're building a path for those touched by cancer. Purchase an engraved brick with your name or the name of a loved one, to be placed on Cancer Services' walkway. Your donation will help bring needed services to others.

  • "An Evening of Sharing  ...A Lifetime of Caring" ...yearly event in November to tribute a special person (living or deceased). Call for information (260) 484-9560 or (866) 484-9560
