May 8, 2008 - Upcoming Nutrition Seminar is scheduled for Thursday May 8, 5:30-7PM at the Healing Arts Center at CSNI. Presented by Mischa Bassett, Clinical Dietitian-Oncology from Lutheran Hospital. This informative presentation will present information that is relevant to healthy people, as well as people with cancer and their caregivers.

Join Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana and the Embassy Theatre for Celebrate Life, a performance headlined by cancer survivor and motivational speaker Heidi Kramer and recording artist, singer-songwriter and pianist Kerri Sherwood at the Embassy Theatre. Together they bring a powerful performance blending original music, stories and song. The program supports and encourages cancer survivors and inspires people to live life to their fullest.

6^th Annual Lapper - A walk to support all those affected by cancer in northeast Indiana. Last year nearly 100 walkers met at Foster Park to participate in this special 20 mile event.  For the last 5 years, being hosted by Jill Burnett, The Lapper has raised more than $40,000 to supplement Cancer Services’ programs and services to breast cancer clients. The event was started by Jill to honor a friend and co-worker battling breast cancer. We appreciate the years of heart and hard work that Jill and her friends have given so unselfishly. This year, Jill has handed over the reins to Cancer Services. On Saturday, April 26, 2008, The Lapper will be reborn as a special walk for people with any kind of cancer diagnosis. All proceeds remain in northeast Indiana to help local people in the communities we serve. The Lapper will be held at Foster Park( Pavilion #2), registration starting at 8:15 a.m.. Mere Mortals Facing Cancer - Monday, May 5, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Allen County Public Library theatre. A rare opportunity to hear cancer survivors share their thoughts about the spiritual side of their cancer experiences. A panel of professionals and clergy will open their lives to you, share their vulnerabilities and answer your questions. First presented in 2007, with resounding success, we are pleased to announce that Dr. Gary Gize, Bishop R. Sheldon Duecker, and Reverend Dick Frazier will be returning members of the panel.
