May 8, 2008 - Upcoming Nutrition Seminar is scheduled for Thursday May 8, 5:30-7PM at the Healing Arts Center at CSNI. Presented by Mischa Bassett, Clinical Dietitian-Oncology from Lutheran Hospital. This informative presentation will present information that is relevant to healthy people, as well as people with cancer and their caregivers.

May 29, 2008 - National Cancer Survivors Day 7:00 p.m.
Join Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana and the Embassy Theatre for Celebrate Life, a performance headlined by cancer survivor and motivational speaker Heidi Kramer and recording artist, singer-songwriter and pianist Kerri Sherwood at the Embassy Theatre. Together they bring a powerful performance blending original music, stories and song. The program supports and encourages cancer survivors and inspires people to live life to their fullest.

Seminars and Workshops

Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana offers periodic workshops on diet and nutrition for people with cancer, during and after treatment.  A registered dietician provides the latest information on how or what you eat can support your recovery.

In addition to providing samples and preparation suggestions, the speaker allows time for general questions from the participants.  Most session are offered in both daytime and evening time periods.

Ovarian Cancer Survivor Celebration -  Ovarian Cancer Survivor Celebration, September 2008. Further details to be announced. Sponsored in 2007 by Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana & Lutheran Cancer Resource Center.

Leave a Legacy - Each fall, Cancer Services participates in “Write a Will Week” which is part of Leave a Legacy. This initiative to promote interest in planned charitable gifts, works hand in hand with non-profit agencies in northeast Indiana. Local lawyers will be available to write your will free of charge, as long as you name at least one charity to receive a gift you’re your will.  Appointments will be required. Date to be announced.

Tai Chi - Tai Chi is a relaxing form of exercise available to people with a wide range of abilities. Participants may do the movements standing or sitting. 6-week sessions for clients, caregivers and friends have not been scheduled yet.
