Education Workshops: Cancer Services offers periodic workshops on nutrition and diet for people with cancer, during and after treatment. A registered dietician provides the latest information on how or what you eat can support your recovery.

In addition to tasting samples and preparation suggestions, the speaker allows time for general questions from the participants.

... Resource Lending Library
Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana has a full lending library that contains a variety of resources for the clients and the community to utilize. The library material covers a range of subjects to assist clients, caregivers, and families throughout the cancer journey.

The library includes sections about specific types of cancer, hope, the initial diagnosis, treatment options, personal accounts, diet and nutrition, and much more.  For clients, in particular, the library also includes visual imagery CDs that help them cope with the stresses that cancer can bring. Clients and those in the community are welcome to check out library materials for a three-week period of time, and can call to renew.

Transportation
Transportation to and from radiation and chemotherapy may be provided for our registered clients. Rides to these treatments are provided primarily by trained volunteers, and occasionally by other community programs.  Detailed requests for transportation must be submitted at least 5 working days in  advance of treatment.

There is no cost to our clients for this service.  However, be aware that this transportation service depends on the availability of trained volunteers, and is not guaranteed.  Client Advocates will work with clients to find solutions to transportation problems.
