2024 Impact Report

80 Years of Caring

In 2024, Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana celebrated 80 years of operation. From its inception, donors and volunteers have always made our mission possible. Thank you for your care and compassion for people with cancer.

We present the 2024 Impact Report so that you can see everything that you made possible last year. Without you, these services and programs would not be available for local families. Thank you again, from the bottoms of our hearts and on behalf of the thousands of families helped last year.

How You Helped Local Families

Without you, there would be thousands of families facing cancer alone. Your love and generosity gave local families practical items, financial help, emotional support, and most important of all, hope. Look at all that you made possible in 2024!

After struggling with symptoms for months, a biopsy confirmed that Julia had uterine cancer. She had recently started chemotherapy when she heard about Cancer Services opening a new location in Warsaw. She visited on opening day. When she sat down with Client Advocate Taylor, Julia was emotional. Taylor listened and gave Julia a safe place to cry. Julia received a cane, nutritional drink supplements, and a wig. She knows where to go when she needs help or some extra emotional support as she continues her journey.

Do you want to keep helping?

Your gift today will ease the stress of a family tomorrow when they receive equipment, financial assistance, counseling, and other supports. Because of you, they’ll have someone on their side as they walk a difficult path.

The Best 80th Birthday Present: Another Location

Ever since Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana expanded services regionally in 2006, we knew the drive to Fort Wayne was burdensome and, at times, impossible for people with cancer living in Kosciusko and surrounding counties. People were grateful to access services over the phone, but they felt disappointed that they couldn’t meet their advocate face-to-face or participate in group classes with their peers.

There was a need for help closer to home. Culminating from thousands of dollars in generous donations, years of planning, and enthusiastic community support, Cancer Services West opened in Warsaw on February 12, 2024.

At first Cancer Services West offered core services focused on individual needs such as personal advocacy and support, medical equipment and care supplies, wigs and head coverings, financial assistance, and counseling. Community members had also expressed a need to connect with others who share their experiences, seeking opportunities for advice, commiseration, and support.

In response, Cancer Services launched a weekly group class, Self-Care and Stress Reduction, a general cancer support group, and Surviving Together, an annual celebration of survivorship.

Volunteers offer hope.

Volunteers are crucial to the mission of Cancer Services. Every day, amazing volunteers ensure the availability of bed pads for clients, provide no-cost transportation to treatments, assist with essential tasks in the office, share information and hope at health fairs, and raise essential funds.

If you’re reading this and have ever volunteered at Cancer Services, thank you for your support. Cancer Services is honored to have you.

After her cancer diagnosis, Martha moved to Indiana to live with her daughter Tamika. Tamika is a mother to five kids and works full-time. Now she also acted as the sole caregiver for her mom. Tamika felt overwhelmed by Martha’s appointments. Realizing she couldn’t do it all on her own, Tamika reached out to her advocate Sandra, who coordinated with CTN so that a driver was available to take Martha to each appointment. Tamika was grateful for the additional support. “We would not have made it this far without the help. I would have had to leave my job.”
