Facilitated by Dr. Jill Fehrenbacher
Some chemotherapy treatments can damage the nerves responsible for sensing temperature, pressure, and pain, leading to a condition called chemotherapy-induced neuropathy. Researchers at the Indiana University Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center are working to better understand why this occurs and how it can be prevented or treated.
In this brief presentation, Dr. Jill Fehrenbacher will discuss current medication options — and their limitations — as well as promising non-pharmacological strategies that many survivors find helpful. By exploring both the science behind neuropathy and practical management approaches, this session aims to support improved comfort, function, and quality of life after cancer treatment.
